Serger Essentials Workshop with Lori Schwehr

Be prepared to fall in love with your Serger!

This is an all day workshop that is recommended for the beginner to intermediate serger user.

In this workshop you will explore the basic skills, stitches and function of a 3 or 4 thread serger including threading, basic function, changing stitches, changing needles, thread knowledge, basic trouble shooting and fabric application.

You will be able to practice the skills with precut fabric samples and retain the sampler workbook in an organized fashion for
future reference.
Workbook and fabric samples are included in price of the workshop

Full Day Workshop price is only $125

Participants will get a 30 minute break to have lunch.  Please bring a lunch and snack. Coffee and tea will be provided.

This is a very busy workshop so a good working serger is a requirement along with the notion list provided.  Please ensure your serger is working before coming to the class.  Should you wish to have a tune-up prior to the class, please make arrangements with us at least 2 weeks prior to the workshop.

Please bring to workshop:
A serger in good working condition
Serger manual
Long tweezers
Screwdriver for serger
4 cones of serger/thread in 4 colours (red, blue, green and yellow)
Scissors and/or thread snips
Small ruler or sewing gauge
Pen and/or pencil
Extra needles for your brand of serger (preferably sharps and
ballpoint/stretch...size 11)
A few pins
Stitch/Seam ripper
Darning needle or loop turner
Seam sealer or fray check
We recommend students to have slippers instead of street shoes...for comfort as well as control of the foot pedal.
